Luckily I haven't had any clunking or vibration from mine that some of the reviewers mentioned. Mine has been very solid and I have no complaints. I chose it for the metal blades and crossed my fingers that it would sound like the old window fan that my grandmother had upstairs where I slept many weekends during summer months. For me, it's a very soothing and sentimental sound. I don't really consider it to be loud. This fan definitely is 2 Cool and is worth the few extra bucks compared to some of the similar sized one blade fans. You have to turn the oscillating feature back on then turn it off again for it come back into the default position. The oscillating on-off button is a tiny little push button which can get a little annoying to operate when you're agitated about the heat in the first place.<br /><br />I have this fan in a non-oscillating version as well and I love both of them. I ultimately used the manual to protect the floor from scratches, and assembled the thing based on intuition - which was pretty easy, given that all the screws were already in place (and most only need to be loosened) and instead of dealing with a long electrical cord, it's broken up into segments with simple foul proof connectors - the engineering far outweighs the not so helpful instruction manual.<br /><br />aesthetics are my main concern with this product, and it exceeds my expectations. clean design, quality metal parts, soft brushed satin finish. I'm picky about my furnishings, but this fan doesn't need to hide in a closet when guest come over. <br /><br />extra bonus - the base is elevated slightly from the ground, so if the cord is longer than what you need you can just tuck it under.<br /><br />the grill around the fan is secured with a band of metal that clamps in one spot, vs. several clips that secure the grills together. slightly more difficult to open if you want to clean dust off it, but aesthetically looks much better. I figure I will look at the fan every day, and clean it once every few months, so am more than happy with the trade off.<br /><br />after plugging it in to test out - works no problem. on the lowest speed setting it makes no noise at all. unbelievable! speeds two and three are increasingly louder, but this has to do with the air, there is not rattle from the fan at all. I'll be using this in lieu of a ceiling fan near my bed, so the gentle breeze and zero noise of the low setting exceeds expectations. <br /><br />the knob that controls oscillation spins and seems loose, but this doesn't affect how it works. I am slightly disappointed with the limited telescoping option - without measuring I'm guessing that the center of the fan can be adjusted to sit between 2 - 3 feet above the floor, but what makes up for that is the knobs that tighten down the tilt of the fan actually work extremely well and hold it securely in place (on my last fan I could never tighten enough, it always ended up pointing to the floor). <br /><br />beautiful aesthetics + quality craftsmanship... Wall Mount Fan is a real problem solver. The 3016 can be quickly installed with the included mounting hardware and can be controlled by either the rotary knob or the three way pull cord, making higher installations practical. <br /> <br /> <br /><h2>Customer Reviews</h2> <br />After extensive research, I found this model to best suit what I was looking for in a tower fan. Quiet & efficient operation, adequate strength with option to bring the level down to a comfortable breeze(though the product description by Amazon that lists 4 modes isn't accurate. There is no "breeze" mode apart from the 3 modes of low, med, and high), attractive design, and good price. This fan meets all the expectations while being equipped with some common but very useful features like remote and automatic timer shutoff. I found it to be pretty neat how it gives short beeps to confirm each button press. What sets this apart from the other tower fans is the adjustable height feature. At its max height which stands about 10" above most of the other tower fans, it's just the right height for the air to reach a person's head when sitting down. I also like the fact that the pedestal design makes for a more compact main unit than that of the standard tower fan design.<br /><br />Given the above, I'm surprised this model isn't nearly as popular as the other models(probably because this model doesn't show up when searching for "tower" fans, I'm guessing).<br /><br />As for the condition of the box(and to a degree, its content) it arrived in, I'll calmly give 0 star. Without any exaggeration, I would say it was absolutely atrocious to describe how ragged, torn, and clumsily taped up the box came in. I nearly decided to send it right back without even bothering to open it. Upon further inspection, I wasn't surprised that the main unit itself had minor blemishes on several spots.
